How it works

- Register for a spot

- Drop-In for all or part of 2 hour session

- Bring good attitude and inquisitive mind

- At arrival, fill out a card with what skills you want to practice (see below)

- Practice your skills

- Ask any questions you have

Included:

- Restraint practice

- Vital signs

- Basic syringe handling

- Specific gravity

- Total Protein

- Microscopic parasite ID

- SOAP records practice

- Case flow and workup

- Case presentation

- Basic drug math

- Locating injection sites

- Blood draw restraint

* Students can only pick skills they have previously learned in a Vetward class

- Urine dipstick

- Fluorescein stain

FAQ

Registration

Limited to Vetward students. Register online. Can register during the session if there is space available.

Drop-In

If registered, can come or go anytime during the 2 hour session. Do not need to stay entire 2 hours.

Registered Participation Only

Only the registered participants will be allowed in the instruction room. No spectators will be allowed.

Included

Each student can pick up to 6 different skills from the limited list and as many as they have time for on the unlimited list (see lists above) to practice. Each limited skill choice will be limited to either 1x per student or a specific amount of time per skill, depending on supplies required. Assistance will be provided as needed. Students can only pick skills they have already learned in a Vetward class.

What to expect

Students will pick the skills they want to practice from the available lists (see above), limited to skills they have already learned in a previous Vetward class. Students will work to practice their skills with assistance as needed. Be prepared to share resources if the session is busy.

Student Conduct Expectations

Students are expected to be courteous and respectful of other students, instructors, animals and equipment. Disruptive behavior or purposely mishandling animals or equipment will not be tolerated. If the session is busy, expect to share and wait your turn for popular choices.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation at least 6 hours prior to the start of a class will be given credit in the amount paid towards a future class. Cancellation less than 6 hours before the start of a class will not receive credit or refund. Must cancel via email to info@vetward.com to receive credit for the amount paid.
